Heartburn consumes me, must be the cola I just gulped
A trickle of sweat on my forehead, the windows are open
It is not hot, only the fear of failure burns inside me
Deep down is a worry that every one must have experienced
Haven't you?
A sense of loneliness is all that prevails,
Silence rules the night, the odd wind gust whispers
A tired body from the days trails, aches that need tending to
The bed is seducing me, calling for me
The laptop is sluggish, a restart is not an option
The cold glass of milk has cooled the burn, the body relaxes
But the mind still burns with questions
Answers I have, but not just yet it seems
If only the mind was as lax as the body
A black hole in my mind, where does it lead?
Enough of this, the bed has won
A seduction that played on my current weakness
A night of relaxation for the mind it shall be
Unless of course, a nightmare occurs
